Translations — This project focused on the act of translating a physical collection into a digital manifestation within print. My physical collection were images of architecture. While translating the images digitally, I focused on repetitive patterns and the use of line within architecture. Repetition is important and should be appreciated within the performance of any activity. The repetitive patterns establish consistency and routine, which are strategies that help to build upon our natural rhythms. This consistency leads to familiarity within the activity, therefore creating a groundwork within our long term memory. As we become more complacent with repetitive patterns we can perform the activity naturally on a subconscious level where each decision isn't deliberately thought out. The repetitive patterns create for a structure that initiates guidance and direction, yet, leads to chances of divergence and contrariety.
