Stephen Sprouse — The book presents fashion sketches by the late designer Stephen Sprouse. The goal was to display these works in a way that felt authentic, yet revealed the intimate creative process. The works on copy paper included here reveal Sprouse's energy: his facile inked lines, use of the Xerox machine which, in the spirit of Andy Warhol, allowed Stephen to vary gouache color applications. Therefore, it was important to preserve the intimacy and tangibility of the material. Sprouse's fashion designs and sketches capture the era of disco and punk. Inspirational muses represented are Jackie Onassis, Patty Hearst, Patti Smith and Debbie Harry of Blondie. The order of the sketches are organized chronologically from 1970s—1980s.
